| C&D Award
The C&D award is
made annually. This prestigious award, which is sponsored by the
Chemist and Druggist magazine, is intended to recognise
individuals who i) have made a significant contribution to the
field of pharmacy practice research and ii) have the potential
to become a leader in the field.
The C&D award
nominations are reviewed by the BPC Practice Research Panel. The
winner of the Medal will receive a cheque for £1,000 and will be
required to deliver a 30 minute lecture at the Conference. It
will be delivered during one of the plenary sessions alongside
the Conference Science Medal lecture.
Applicants do not necessarily have to be based in a school of
pharmacy or be a registered pharmacist. International applicants
are welcome. Previous award holders are:
1999 Felicity Smith
2000 Judy Cantrill
2001 Carmel Hughes
2002 Janie Sheridan
2003 Karen Hassell
2004 Ian Wong
2005 Briony Dean-Franklin

Candidates can apply for the award themselves, or be nominated
by a colleague. They are asked to forward an academic CV, to
include details of grants held, publications, plenary conference
presentations, professional and academic record including peer
review experience, together with a lecture outline. The lecture
outline should include the research areas and topics that will
be covered and a statement of how the research contributes to
knowledge and policy in relation to health care generally and
pharmacy practice specifically. It is anticipated that the
outline will be approximately 1000 words.
Application
deadline is 5pm Friday 16th March 2007. The successful applicant
will be notified by early June.
